Terms & Conditions for Tutors
Effective From 23rd March 2026
This document outlines the responsibilities, expectations, and policies for tutors engaged with The Gurukul Global. By accepting a tutoring assignment or representing our platform, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to work independently as a tutor.
- If under 18, written consent from a parent or guardian is required.
2. Onboarding & Approval
All tutor applications are reviewed. Approval is at the discretion of the The Gurukul Global team.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your engagement at any time based on performance or conduct.
3. Class Conduct & Etiquette
- Cameras must be on throughout the session for both you and the student.
- Avoid distractions (e.g. mobile use, multitasking) during class.
- Maintain a professional and respectful tone at all times.
4. Attendance, Reports & Homework
- Tutors are required to record the attendance using the shared Google Sheet within 24 hours of each session.
- Assigning and reviewing homework within 2-3 hours post-class is compulsory.
- Conducting bi-weekly tests and providing monthly progress reports with detailed feedback to parents are mandatory.
5. Class Scheduling & Cancellations
- Inform both the client and The Gurukul Global at least 3 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule a session.
- Unnotified absences may result in a 50% penalty of that class fee.
6. Trial Classes
The first Trial session is unpaid, and lasts a minimum of 30-40 minutes.
7. Payment Terms
Each tutor will be assigned a specific week for monthly payments. Payments are processed based on sessions delivered in the previous month.
- Please contact the Payments Team to confirm your designated payment week after completing your sessions.
- Accurate reporting and compliance with all responsibilities is mandatory for payment release.
8. Non-Solicitation & Anti-Poaching
- Tutors must not engage in direct communication with students or parents outside the The Gurukul Global platform for tutoring or any related services.
- If a client (student or parent) approaches a tutor for direct sessions or arrangements outside the platform, the tutor must immediately inform the The Gurukul Global management.
- Failure to notify management or proceeding with off-platform arrangements without approval will be considered a breach of contract.
- Violations may result in legal action, including a penalty of ₹500,000 or more, depending on the extent of damages.
- All disputes related to such violations will be resolved through arbitration in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, under applicable Indian arbitration laws.
9. Termination
- Tutors must give 60 days' written notice before discontinuing active assignments.
- Breaches of performance expectations or communication policies may result in termination.
10. Confidentiality
- Tutor agrees not to share personal information or company materials with students, parents, or third parties.
- Breach of confidentiality is subject to immediate dismissal and potential legal action.
11. Intellectual Property & Content Use
- Tutors must agree that any teaching material, presentations, assessments, or content created while working with The Gurukul Global is the intellectual property of the company.
- These materials may not be shared, sold, or reused outside of the platform without written permission.
- Any unauthorized use will be considered a breach of agreement and may result in legal action.
12. Conflict of Interest
Tutors are not permitted to:
- Solicit students or offer private lessons outside of the platform, even through third-party arrangements.
- Promote personal businesses or unrelated services during sessions.
Any potential conflict must be disclosed to the management immediately.
13. Dress Code & Professional Presentation
- Wear appropriate, modest attire.
- Conduct sessions in a clean, well-lit, and quiet environment.
- Sit upright at a desk or table, not on a bed or couch.
14. Technical Requirements
- A stable internet connection (minimum recommended speed: 10 Mbps upload/download).
- A functioning laptop or tablet with a working webcam and microphone.
- Sessions should not be conducted from mobile phones unless approved.
15. Performance Monitoring
The Gurukul Global may conduct periodic performance reviews based on student feedback, session recordings, and homework completion rates.
16. Training & Development
Tutors may be required to attend orientation sessions or monthly tutor meetings.
17. Social Media & Public Conduct
- Do not post student information, screenshots, or conversations online.
- Avoid controversial or inappropriate public content while identifying as an The Gurukul Global tutor.
18. One-on-One Session Policy
All sessions conducted through The Gurukul Global must remain strictly one-on-one. Violation of this policy may lead to immediate termination.
